For
over thirty years, Lotus Corps has been serving Lotus owners and
enthusiasts in the Chicago area. The club was founded by seven Lotus
owners to participate in local sports car events and assist each
other in maintaining their cars. Since then, Lotus Corps has grown
in membership and scope. Today, Lotus Corps has over 130 members,
offers an extensive program of activities for its members to enjoy,
and remains committed to sharing the technical knowledge necessary
to maintain and preserve the marque.
 Each
spring, a Tune-up Clinic is held to give hands-on instruction to
Lotus repair and maintenance. The clinic is usually held at an
automotive shop where specialized equipment is available to assist
with adjustments or repairs. Lotus Corps is able to bring many years
of Lotus experience to help with clinic issues. Topics have included
brake systems, suspension alignment, carburetor tuning, fiberglass
repair, valve adjustment, and emissions testing. Mini-Tune-up
Clinics are held to assist members at other times of the year. Lotus
Corps owns specialized tools and parts such as
alignment gauges and valve shims. Lotus Corps also publishes a Parts
and Services Directory which lists sources for Lotus parts and
services available locally, nationally, and in Great Britain. And
technical articles are published in the club’s monthly newsletter.

Lotus
Corps offers a number of behind the wheel events, providing
plenty of opportunities for using the Lotus as it was intended:
driving fun! The Carl Grabowski Driver Education Day provides an
opportunity for members learn high speed car control at
Blackhawk Farms Raceway. Autocrosses provide for split-second
competition against the clock, while rallies and weekend road
touring events allow a more prolonged and relaxing driving
experience. The Fantasy Garage Tour visits auto restoration and
race car preparation facilities. Lotus Corps has also traveled
as a group to spectate at vintage race events at such tracks as
Road America, Blackhawk Farms, and Gingerman Raceways. |

Lotus Corps is a socially active club. The
monthly general membership meetings are always preceded with a
social hour, and there is often a special program event after the
business portion of the meeting. The club sponsors a number of
picnics and parties throughout the year, notably the Family Picnic
during one of the summer months. Lotus Corps is a founding member
club of the British Car Union, and participates in the British Car
Festival held each September. Dozens of Lotuses are on display at
the Festival, providing an opportunity to meet other Lotus owners
from around the Midwest. Lotus Corps proudly helped to conduct the
2002 Lotus Owners Gathering. Over 140 Lotuses from all over the
country came to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for an extended weekend of
Lotus fun. Other activities include the Lotus Corps Auction in
November, and the Annual Members Recognition and Awards Banquet in
January.
Monthly meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month, starting with a social hour at: 7:00PM, and the business portion
of the meeting at 8:00PM.
