Hamilton Lakes, Itasca, Illinois. Lotus Corps continues to support the British Car Show at the Highland Games. The cars will be on display on Saturday, the 15th. Car Show Registration Forms will be found on the website. Entry fee for the car includes entry for two persons. The show runs from 8 AM to 6 PM, and concludes with the Closing Cere-monies and Massed Bands Show, a breath-taking spectacle of 1,000 bagpipers and drummers performing several traditional musical selections including Amazing Grace. The Sam Smith EnCorps Incursion is coming up fast. June 29th and 30th.
We're heading west (no news there) to enjoy a number of entertaining stops (yes, more than last year) and the ever-important quotient of swoopy roads. We'll stay overnight in the quaint little river town of Dubuque. Dinner will be at a very neat spot up the road with a unique claim to fame.
We have reserved two blocks of rooms (there is a soccer tournament in town).

10th Annual Veterans Classic Car Show
Capt. James Lovell Federal Health Care Center, North Chicago, Illinois.
It has been agreed to make the Veterans Classic Car Show an official Lotus Corps event. It is a non-public event, specially organized for the veteran residents. The show is open to all types and eras of cars. There is no entry fee, and a nice lunch is provided. Trophies are awarded as decided by the vets themselves. Registration begins at 11:30 AM, and the show runs from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Please help support this event. Our veterans are car guys too, and will certainly enjoy seeing our Lotuses on display. |

Joint Lotus Laps Inc./Lotus Corps Track Day
To quote our friends at Laps Incorporated, “The best track days are about much more than lap times and bragging rights. They encompass education and safety; friends and camaraderie; competition and excitement.” And that’s why Lotus Corps is teaming up again this year with Laps Inc. to bring you a second track day!
Come join Lotus Corp and Laps Incorporated at Autobahn Country Club, Monday August 5th for a great day of driving your Lotus like it was meant to be (we don’t discriminate – other cars and owners welcome too!). Note, this is a limited opportunity to drive the full circuit at Autobahn, most events are run on either the North or South tracks, not the full 3.56 mile, 21 turn full circuit! Drivers will be divided into groups based on skill level, with experienced instructors from Laps providing individual instruction as needed. All of this with at least 2 ½ to 3 hours of track time for only $260.

2013 Lotus Fall Tour
yes it's the 2013 Lotus Fall Tour, hosted by Barb and Ken Olendzki
When??? Where??? Last Weekend of September in Door County Wisconsin
This is the 17th year of the Olendzki's annual weekender. This year's tour heads a bit farther than past tours and includes the option to join the group for two, three or four days. While not a race car event, we will have some fun stretches of less traveled roads to exercise our favorite sports cars.
Optional Friday
We will leave Lake Geneva Wisconsin after breakfast for a leisurely back road drive to Manitowoc, WI where will have dinner in town and stay at the Best Western Lakefront Hotel at 101 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc, WI 54220. Rates range from $85 and up with the best rates available via various internet hotel booking services or call the hotel at (920) 682-7000 . The hotel is down the street from the Manitowoc Maritime Museum which we may be able to tour late Friday afternoon including their Manitowoc built submarine. We do NOT have a block of rooms, so book early if you plan to stay there. It is about a three hour drive via interstates from Chicago for those that want to leave home Saturday morning and start the tour in Manitowoc.
Saturday
The traditional tour will leave Manitowoc from the Best Western Lakefront Hotel after their complementary continental breakfast, and we will begin our tour to and in Door County with some nature stops, some food stops, some shopping stops and some bizarre stops along the way. We will end up at the Churchill Inn in Sister Bay. We have a block of rooms available through July 15 at their regular rates with start at $139 per night for Saturday and a bit less for Sunday night (includes a full breakfast). This is Door County's high season, so please book early. You can book on their website and see the variety of room types at www.churchhillinn.com or call them at 800-422-4906. Please tell them when you book that you are part of the Lotus Club group. If we get enough rooms booked early, they will expand our block. We will have a car show and group dinner at the English Inn in Fish Creek where will order off the regular menu and have separate checks (yeh!).
Sunday
A full day of touring all that Door County has to offer, and we will share more details as we get closer to the weekend. We recommend that you enjoy the roads and camaraderie for as long as you can. If you need to get back home for work on Monday, it is about a four drive from Sturgeon Bay to Chicago via the interstate. For those that can extend your stay through Monday, we plan to enjoy either dinner on the beach at Fred & Fuzzy's outdoor restaurant or at one of Door County's famous fish boils. Your hosts will be staying at the Churchill Inn again on Sunday night.
Optional Monday
We plan to leave Door County after the Inn's full breakfast, stop at a UFO landing site in Poland (we are the Olendzki's after all), and then meander our way south along the Lake Michigan shoreline back roads again with a few interesting stops along the way.

Lotus Corps Fall Tour
Door County, Wisconsin.
This year, the Fall Tour will stretch all the wall to scenic Door County, Wisconsin. Because of the extra distance, the weekend will get stretched accordingly. The Tour will begin on Friday morning, starting in Lake Geneva with a stay-over at the Best Western in Manitowoc. From there, we’ll drive up into Door County, spending the next two days exploring the peninsula, and the next two nights at the Churchill Inn in Sister Bay. We will then take the day on Monday to drive home. Be sure to save the dates. Full details to be posted soon. |

Annual Auction
Our biggest and most popular meeting of the year is the Annual Auction. Donations of all sorts are brought in by our members and select commercial businesses, and then auctioned off to the highest bidder. The proceeds from the sale go to help pay for the fun events and activities we all enjoy. Mark this date as one you will not want to miss. It will be one week earlier than usual to avoid conflicting with the Thanksgiving holiday.
In the meantime while you are cleaning out the basement, attic, or garage, please keep an eye out for items that could be donated to the Auction. Car parts (especially Lotus), tools and equipment, accessories, books, magazines, posters, models, and memorabilia are good candidates. Just about anything in fact, that a sports car enthusiast might find desirable.

Hosted by Lotus Owners Of New York, the host hotel will be the Radisson in Corning, New York. The Friday reception, the Saturday Banquet, and possibly the Sunday Dinner will be held at the host hotel. The Saturday Concours will be held at the track in-field. There will also be a laps and lunch event on Sunday for those interested. The autocross will tentatively be held at Ferrario Auto Team in Elmira. Early reservations at the Radisson are en-couraged, as there are only 170 rooms (150 have been blocked) and they are likely to sell out quickly. Mention the Lotus group to get the $129 rate.
