7	8	9	10	11	12	13 Go-Cart Enduro Hey Race Fans, How are you doing so far this Winter? Go-Kart Enduro planning time again. The Date: Saturday March 13th, 5:00 PM Check-In. Location: Addison, IL, Track 6. There will be 10 teams of 5 drivers on each team for a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Drivers rotate with each driver getting two stints lasting approximately 7 minutes per stint. Driving slots are reserved on a first-come first-serve basis. Receipt of payment “locks” that individual into a slot. All payment for individuals is due by Friday March 5th. After that date “reserved spaces” can be bumped by a paying individual. If a group of individuals wish to race as a team or wish to race on a team please submit one check for all the members on the team. Teams slots are also reserved and filled on a first-come first-serve basis. The deadline for team check payments is Friday, February 26th. After such date it will be up to my discretion to move people around in order to fill up all 50 driver slots. There will be a stand-by list in the event we have more participants then slots. It’s been my experience that sometimes people have other commitments that force them to drop out before the event. This is a coed event and ideally we’d like to have at least one female on each team if it can be arranged. Once again we’ve been able to hold the cost to $40 per individual and $30 for Lotus Corps members. I’ll do my best to accommodate all requests for to be on a specific team. 2010-05-02	Spring tune up clinic To be held at Fox Valley Motorcars in Westmont, Illinois. Begins at 8:00 am. Tune Up and Pre Tech Inspection Opportunity for the Driver Education Day. Breakfast for those so inclined at Emmy’s (about 2 blocks West of FVMC on the North side of Ogden Avenue). More details to follow.
2010-05-17	Carl Grabowski Driver Education Day The Fun begins again. Please join us for our eighth annual Track Day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in Rockton, Illinois. Note that this years early bird registration deadline is March 17th, 2010. This event is expected to fill up fast, so dont delay, sign up now and save! A registration form is now available: here. We are seeking volunteers, whether experienced or not, to assist with this event. We are also seeking driving instructors to assist with the green group. 2010-05-06	The 23rd Blount British Cars Gathering May 6, 7 & 8 - The 23rd Blount British Cars Gathering in Townsend, Tennessee, on the grounds of the Talley Ho Inn. Blount British Cars, Ltd. has become a leader in the East Tennessee area by hosting a British Car Gathering each spring. The first year, they "Gathered" at Maryville College for British Day with 16 cars. Since then we have grown to more than 150 British Cars at some shows. The British Car Gathering is now held on the grounds of the Talley Ho Inn in Townsend, Tennessee. The Gathering is open to all British cars and motorcycles. Each year, the Gathering draws cars from all states surrounding and including Tennessee and as far north as Michigan, as far south as Florida and many other the places in between. Motorcars have ranged from a 1932 Morris sedan and a 1935 MG Airline Coupe to 1950s, 1960s and newer models of MG, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Minis and Sunbeams. We have also had De Loreans and an Amphicar. We even had an Austin-Healey Boat at one show. Owners range from teenagers to Senior Citizens! Proceeds from the Gatherings are donated to various deserving local charities, selected by a special committee. In early 2010, more information will be found here..

2010-07-10	Mad Dogs & Englishmen XX Mad Dogs & Englishmen XX. Jaguar is the headline marque at this year’s 20th annual Mad Dogs & Englishmen car show, with Riley featured as the seldom seen Rare Gem. Mad Dogs is widely hailed as one of the Midwest’s premier British events, last year fielding over 400 cars at its annual venue on the beautiful, grassy campus of Gilmore Classic Car Museum, Hickory Corners, Michigan. The annual Mad Dogs rally is Saturday, 10 July, followed by a dinner and prizes. In 2009, Mad Dogs hosted over 2,000 spectators and participants, and presented trophies and awards in over 30 classes. 2010-07-25	18th Annual Tea at the Vicarage Car Rally Held in Howe, IN. Road rally through small towns, past lakes and Amish farms in rural LaGrange County of northeastern Indiana. Answer questions as well as gather odds and ends along the route. Starts at historic Howe Military Academy and ends there with Bring Your Own Picnic. 2010-08-07	Heartland British Autofest The Quad City British Auto Club presents its yearly event once again. There will be a drive or rally on Saturday, followed by a group dinner. The car show is on Sunday August 8 with registration from 9am until Noon. Awards are announced at 3pm. More details will be announced in the future here.
2010-08-21	Microcar and Minicar World Meet Held in Crystal Lake, IL. Details on their website here. These tiny cars, known as Bubble Cars, evolved after WWII as European industries were starting back to work and began producing cars for the masses. They were underpowered and lightweight, sipping fuel to get over 70 miles per gallon. These microcars were capable of transporting families in relative comfort.
2010-09-12	The Salisbury Concours The Salisbury House is an English Manor House in Des Moines, Iowa. The House was built during the 1920s and was featured in the A&E Networks Americas Castles series. The purpose of the Salisbury Concours, formerly the Salisbury Automobile Classic, is to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of the Salisbury House and grounds. The Salisbury concours is an invitational concours d elegance and show. British saloon and sports cars and super cars are special interest categories in 2010. 2010-10-12	24 Hours of LeMons Rod Blagojevich Never Say Die 5 24 Hours of LeMons Rod Blagojevich Never Say Die 500 at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. More information on the website here. The 24 Hours of LeMons is restricted to cars that were purchased, fixed up, and track prepped for total of $500 or less. At most venues, the racing consists of tech inspection and track testing on Friday, long ass endurance race sessions on Saturday and Sunday, and breaks for sleeping, eating, and Band Aid application every night. At least once a year, they also hold a straight 24 hour endurance race. Count on plenty of noise, prizes, water fights, and questionably civilized fun before, during, and after the track sessions. Finally, assuming youre still standing, there is the gala awards ceremony which presents trophies, plaques, and winners purses paid out in nickels.
