Lotus Corps Fall Tour
The 2010 Lotus Corps Fall Tour is being planned. This years fall tour will begin Saturday morning at the Lake Geneva Classic Car Rally Parade on Wrigley Drive in downtown Lake Geneva. After the car parade, we will head out along the back roads of Southern Wisconsin stopping along the way at a few natural and man-made attractions as we travel north towards the town of Oshkosh on Lake Winnebego.
We will enjoy a group dinner Saturday night, and we have a block of rooms at the Fairfield Inn in Oshkosh. (Call 920-233-8504 & ask for the Lotus Corps rate of $72 for 9/25 - block held until 8/25/10)
On Sunday, we will head over to Road America in Elkhart Lake for the final day of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs
Schedule of Events
Saturday
9:00-10:45 am - Join the line-up of classic cars on Wrigley Drive in downtown Lake Geneva
11:00 am - Classic car parade leaves downtown Lake Geneva for a short Parade to the Lodge at Geneva Ridge on the shores of Lake Como.
11:15 to 11:30 am - Lotus Tour Group gathers on the lawn west of the Willowcreek Chalet on the grounds of the Lodge at Geneva Inn for general instructions and route sheet distribution.
Noon - Lunch at Gus Drive-In in East Troy
1:00 to 5:00 pm - 125ish mile Tour of the back roads of Wisconsin
5:00 pm - Check into Fairfield Inn in Oshkosh, WI
7:00 pm - Group dinner in Oshkosh, WI
Sunday
7:00 am - Continental Breakfast at the Fairfield Inn
8:00 am - Leave for the 44 mile drive to Road America
9:15 am - Arrive at Road America for SCCA National Run-offs ($35 day of event, $25 if bought by 9/15)
??? pm - Group drive back along the Kettle Morraine Scenic drive for those wanting a scenic drive back OR speed run down Route 57 to the Interstate for those who want to get back home in a hurry.

Lotus Owners Gathering (LOG 30)
October 8 thru 11th - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
The D.C. Chapter of Lotus Limited is hosting this years LOG, which will be held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Gettysburg is famous as the site of the pivotal battle in 1863 during the War Between the States. The surrounding towns, mountains, orchards and farmlands, as well as the many historic monuments, will provide plenty of photo opportunities. The Eisenhower Inn and Conference Center in Gettysburg will be the LOG headquarters. Track Day activities are to be held at Summit Point, West Virginia. The Salisbury Concours
The Salisbury House is an English Manor House in Des Moines, Iowa. The House was built during the 1920s and was featured in the A&E Networks Americas Castles series. The purpose of the Salisbury Concours, formerly the Salisbury Automobile Classic, is to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of the Salisbury House and grounds. The Salisbury concours is an invitational concours d elegance and show. British saloon and sports cars and super cars are special interest categories in 2010. Geneva Lake Classic Car Rally
September 24-26th - Lake Geneva, Wisconsin
An event that has evolved from the Lake Geneva Classic Car Rally, after 30 years of raising money for childhood cancer research. Two and a half days of activities: A reception at The Cove on Friday night; A car show, parade, and the first day of the Poker Rally, and a sock hop on Saturday; And the conclusion of the Poker Rally and a car show on Sunday. Awards for the best poker hands, and raffle prizes will be distributed at the end of the day.

24 Hours of LeMons Rod Blagojevich Never Say Die 5
24 Hours of LeMons Rod Blagojevich Never Say Die 500 at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. More information on the website.
The 24 Hours of LeMons is restricted to cars that were purchased, fixed up, and track prepped for total of $500 or less. At most venues, the racing consists of tech inspection and track testing on Friday, long ass endurance race sessions on Saturday and Sunday, and breaks for sleeping, eating, and Band Aid application every night. At least once a year, they also hold a straight 24 hour endurance race. Count on plenty of noise, prizes, water fights, and questionably civilized fun before, during, and after the track sessions. Finally, assuming youre still standing, there is the gala awards ceremony which presents trophies, plaques, and winners purses paid out in nickels. |
