The Elise continues to he a popular subject in the die cast model world.. as we will see in this month's newsletter. For those of you who may have missed the Matchbox release of the Elise S1 a few years ago, you are now in luck with TWO releases from them!

As part of it's 35 year celebration, Matchbox released a series of cars, limited to 15,000, in it's superfast line. The superfast name comes from the same name released in 1969. Luckily for us. Matchbox decided to include the 1996 Elise as part of this release! The car itself has unique rims, and a nice burnt orange color as well. This Elise is number 42 in the series, and are fairly easy to find at a variety of department stores.

In addition to this one, Matchbox also released a yellow Elise S1 in it's "Treasure Hunt" series. Again, this is an easy one to find.

An interesting remote control car that I recently was able to pick up is this 1:18 scale Lotus Elise S2. The only information I can gather from the box is that it is made in China, and, for legal purposes I am sure, has the word "Chengdu" on the back of the car ... a quick glance at it, though, tell you it's true roots! Happy Hunting!!
