This month, we will look at a few new releases from Hot Wheels. They're the perfect gift for that special person on your list...you!

First up, is the Lotus Project M250. This car has seen several variations through the years, and this particular model is in a black paint scheme, yellow glass, and flames on the side. The tires and rims are a step up from the normal releases ... typical of what you might see on the limited "treasure hunt" series. This particular release is one in a series of five vehicles under the "gift card" logo. As far as I can tell, these were only released to Wal-Mart stores, so you might want to be on the lookout for them. They retail for $1.50.

Here's another close up of the M250:

Also, be on the lookout for the new 5 pack release from Hot Wheels, under the "Exotics" series. It includes a repainted Lotus Sport Elise- this time in black with gold 5 spoke rims. The other cars included in this package are the Acura HSC, Shelby Concept, Porsche Carrera GT, and Jaguar XJ220. This set retails for around $6.00, and can be found in the larger stores that carry hot wheels products.

For those looking for sources to buy Lotus diecast models, Bob Herzog let me know of the website... www.diecasm.com. They carry a wide variety of 1/18, and the smaller 1/43 scale models. Here's a bit of information from their website:

Diecasm is the art of bringing two seemingly unrelated individuals, groups, corporations and organizations together for a common good. This is why Diecasm exists!

The first Diecasm brings together collectors and enthusiasts of replica model vehicles, and non-profit organizations. Every sale results in a donation to your selected non-profit. The collector's own enjoyment with their replica models comes with:

  • Knowing their chosen non-profit received a donation
  • The collector has made a tax-qualified charitable contribution
    to a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Your non-profit builds upon their work, continuing their mission. So, it's a great way to help yourself, and others at the same time!

Until next month... Happy Hunting!
